Meet The Founder
Ian Stewart
Builder at heart. Storyteller by purpose.
A Different Kind of Builder
Ian Stewart spent nearly thirty years as a union commercial carpenter, helping build schools, hospitals, offices, and other places where people spend their lives.
A father of three, Ian's own journey through recovery reshaped the way he thought about growth, resilience, and the principles that help people build meaningful lives.
Today, he brings those experiences together as the founder and Chief Story Architect of The Lantern Path LLC and creator of Siolara—a world built around the belief that stories can help children discover those principles for themselves.
A Letter From The Founder
I never set out to become a children's author.
I spent nearly thirty years as a union commercial carpenter building schools, hospitals, offices, and places where people spend their lives.
Along the way, I became a father to three incredible children. I also found recovery, and through that journey I discovered something that forever changed the way I look at the world.
Recovery taught me that the strongest foundations are not built from concrete and steel. They are built from honesty, hope, humility, courage, service, gratitude, forgiveness, and the willingness to ask for help. Those principles don't only help adults rebuild their lives. They are the same principles that help children grow into compassionate, resilient human beings.
That realization became the seed for Siolara.
I didn't want to write a collection of books with lessons at the end of each story. Children deserve something far more meaningful than another lecture wrapped in colorful pages. I wanted to create a world children would want to return to—a place where emotional growth happens naturally through wonder, imagination, adventure, and friendship. Every lantern represents hope. Every path represents growth. Every character carries strengths, fears, and imperfections that children can recognize in themselves. Every story plants a seed.
My hope is that those seeds continue growing long after the final page is turned.
Siolara is not simply a publishing project. It is my life's work.
I have spent decades helping build the places where children learn. My next chapter is devoted to helping build the children inside those places. If even one child feels less alone, more hopeful, or more confident because of these stories, then Siolara has already fulfilled its purpose.
Welcome to Siolara. Welcome home.
